The 125 year-old tall ship Gazela undergoes a major hull repair at Penn's Landing, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, July 2008. An army of volunteers and professional shipwrights fit the 30 foot long timbers of white oak into sections of the hull where rotted wood was removed. For more information or to volunteer to work on the ship, visit www.gazela.org. Video by RON TARVER / Inquirer Staff Photographer.

Thank you very much for posting this video. My Father Frederick Baker was one of the crew members to help bring the Gazela over from Portugal in 1971. He told us when they were bringing her over that he didn't see much day light, since he was always working in the engine room. Sorry to mention my Father passed away in September 2007. However this was one of his greatest adventures in life. Thanks again for posting this.
