Another journey into the depths of movie logic. This time Rosseter is joined by Fungo in a look at the workings of the Terminator series. They find that time travel is weird, and that, ironically, Terminators suck at terminating.

  • I love you guys, just found you randomly for your AMAZING Silent hill stuff and now I'm perusing everything else. One thing I think you missed, got close to was:

How did a computer repair flesh on Marcus ssooo fast? WHY? and more importantly Why does the machine shop KNOW how to do this? I suppose to repair infiltration units is the only real answer I'd accept... but generally you don't learn how to fix your enemy...

  • @AlbinoRaven42

Marcus was working for the machines all along... I guess they had a replacement skin layed out on his bed for when he got home?

  • man all movies have some imposible stuff in them and you're talking abouth something that is never been done no one is never been able to travel in time, you're just making your own rules of time traveling because there are no real rulesis besides in dragon ball z you can find some explanation the travels were betwen parallel universes not time

  • @adam24company

Well, if you're going with the multiple-universe theory, then the machines wouldn't be so desparate to kill John Connor because it wouldn't work. They'd be killing a different univers's John Connor, leaving theirs alive to destroy them. How would that help them win the war?

  • 3:50 always makes me lol no matter how many times I see it. BTW Reese was always John's father, this is inevitable and Skynet knows this. And Sarah Connor Chronicles was a great show.

  • The original timeline involved no time-travel, and we doubt Kyle sired a child older than he was...

Indeedie doo. Terminator 3 may be horrifically stupid, but it's still a really fun movie. Who doesn't like heavy robots demolishing a bathroom while throwing each other around?

  • A lot of this is inaccurate, especially the fact that it's the future and you're mocking an English speaking computer... really? Also time travel can be complicated, like a big ball of wibbly wobbly timey wimey.... stuff. Mocking the unrealistic and impossibilities of movies is what kills movies nowadays. It just makes you a critical, cynical bastard :/ Just try to enjoy the movie dammit!

  • @PedanticTwit Off topic of this video.. Silent Hill Homecoming was about the sacrifices which occured, mimicking the sacrifice of Alessa, It studies the psychological state of Alex who broke the chain when he drowned his brother whereas it was he who was to be drowned. You can say it doesn't deserve the title Silent Hill all you want but it's still as much Silent Hill as the rest.

  • @Sonetodecirene Yeah, well, that's what seems to happen whenever people not involved with an original project are tapped to continue said project. We see it in the Silent Hill series, too. Silent Hill is, at bottom, about the psychological state of one (or more) of the characters involved. And then we have the most recent SH games, which are just about silly monsters or something.

  • @PedanticTwit

Too bad the other movies threw that out of the window.

  • When can we meet "Rosseter II"???

  • Actually, the first movie works if you apply the Novikov self-consistency principle. The basic idea is that time travel cannot *change* the past and no new timelines are created. There is only one timeline, and that is the one in which Kyle Reese gets jiggy with Sarah Connor.

  • I think this movie has 12 monkeys kind of timeline

  • But what if they dont even change the timeline and everything just happend that way?
