  • All those flavors are really components of the german hefe yeast. The banana flavors become more pronounced when fermenting at a slightly higher temperature, creating more fruity esters, As you mentioned. The phenol and clove flavors are more interchangable. I personally consider phenol's to be a more of a spicy note, which you can also experience in many belgians ales as well.

  • Meanwhile, cloves to me seem more like a light combination of bubblegum and string beans. It sounds weird, but give it a try. The flavor profile I think is accurate.

  • You guys are fucking badass. My only criticism is : you guys always agree on the thumbs up and down. Maybe it just means that you guys are right but it also makes it seem less believeable because different people DO have different preferences. Don't take it as an insult, it's just an observation. Keep doing what you're doing, though, you guys pwn.

  • Thanks for the compliment. Unfortunately we have a similar taste in beer, but we occasionally disagree.

  • a couple of boobs who wouldnt know a good hefeweize if someone poured it for them

  • Yeah sure buddy. You ever had a weihenstephaner? That sorta was the best hefe we rated. Find me a better one or shut the fuck up. Thanks for watching though.
