Enroute back home to Alaska in the far interior of Canada, my inner voice called me to the edge of this lake. Snowleopard, an Apache Medicine Chief, taught me the Ranger Prayer in order to be of better service in this world. This is a simple, powerful, beautiful, ancient ritual that calls in and gives thanks to the four directions, beings and forces of Nature and Great Spirit. Then you state your intention, breathe it into the blue corn meal or tobacco from your medicine pouch. Finally you place it upon the ground and say, "It is a good day to die." and watch what happens. Be careful what you ask for. Nearly every time I do this, my life changes dramatically. At the end of this video is a link to the Ranger Prayer being performed outside Homer, Alaska. The Ranger Prayer became the most powerful way that I co-create with the forces of Spirit and Nature. I give great thanks Creator for Snowleopard showing me this and so many other ways to live, love, and be free.

Snowleopard was also Capt. Michael Bookbinder, director of Search & Rescue International and Commander of the Alaska Airborne Rangers.

  • I challenge you all who claim to know the ways of the Medicine path to explain to me how sema, cedar, sweetgrass or sage is in anyway more sacred than a single blade of grass.

Or how this man's words are any less sacred than any one of yours! What you all fail to realize is,.. we are all part of the same tribe the world over.

  • Perhaps u do not know the meaning of "sacred". Here is one definition: "Concerned with religion or religious purposes". Is a blade of grass concerned with religion or religious purposes? If so, then it is sacred. if not, then perhaps it is still sacred by other definitions. One thing that makes Sage more powerful and more sacred than a blade of grass by my definition and use is that I use it for communication and cooperation with Spirit and Nature for Healing and creating reality.

  • Blessing Brother David, i had a question the last few words at the end of the prayer in native tongue what does it mean and can you share the words in writing. Thank you, Brother Ulysses

  • "Da-na'-ho-we-yo' means "It is said. It is good." and is similar to Amen and is used in conjunction with Aho.

Hoka-hey is also like Amen though goes much deeper and broader. It is a formal acknowledgment and a way to say good-by. Yata-hey (hello). Hoka-hey (good-bye).

Let me know if you want more info.

    Sure appreciate the comments.

    Danahoweyo!

    Hoka-hey...

  • I agree with you, and I agreed never to share these things. It was only after years of compelling encouragement and direction by Great Spirit that I was willing to share these sacred medicines.

I was deeply concerned for my own well-being and that of those who may do harm to themselves and others with the ancient ways.

So the Hawaiian Kahunas have had a similar challenge as they are being compelled by Akua to share the ancient, kapu (forbidden) wisdom known as Huna Kupua, "wisdom hidden".

  • I love this prayer. Its a gift that's mine. We are all children of Earth. Some people don' t. Know that. The Mother and the whole panthion calls to all but some do not hear.

  • @Nativeson9979 i never said i had authority u all need to stop being butt hurt when someone commments on here in the first place who ever put this vid up needs to not put apache on the title because being a real apache this aint even close to it so all you little bitches wont cry around hah

  • I was a hippy in the sixties and i am sixty this year. We believed for a while that everything in

    the universe is sacred.

To celebrate this we would take our clothes off and fuck. Happy days.

  • @DavidLakota The point of what I was reaching at is, regardless of a man's race, color or creed, if it is sacred to you then it is sacred. This whole world is sacred, as are the words we share with The Great Spirit.

  • @siouxwinyan71 YOU ARE NO MEDICINE MAN. A TRUE MEDICINE MAN WILL TEACH YOU THAT WE ALL LONG TO BELONG TO SOMETHING GREATER. A TRUE MEDICINE MAN WOULD ENCOURAGE THIS MAN'S LOVE FOR OUR BELIEFS. AND HOW DARE YOU CLAIM TO BE AN AUTHORITY.
