@valdie91285 What part of my comment about over 400 Philly cops being convicted of felonies in the last 30 years is not true? Better yet, 38 Philadelphia policemen were arrested from November, 2009 through November, 2011 (source: NBC TV-3 News.) That extrapolates to a staggering five-percent arrest rate. Incredibly, a 2004 prosecutor-conducted study showed that most criminal cops are never arrested! If the cops do not want to be criticized, they will have to stop committing crimes en masse.
@2m47 It isn't just "a couple" cops who "abused their power". All cops do to some degree, whether they perpetrate the worse felonies or "only" cover up for those who do. In Philadelphia alone, over 400 police officers have been convicted of felonies in just the prior 30 years. Obviously, cops are necessary -- but they need to be held accountable. However, that usually does not occur.
@PhillyCopsAreCorrupt So what if someone in your family went out in raped somone does that make your whole family bad people so if a couple police officer's went out in abused their power doesn't mean all of them do that u don't make fuckin sense.
@24wsm Just because pigs "help people all the time" does not forgive their crimes. People like you completely misunderstand most cop critics. We are good people of good character who hate cops because we have been robbed, tortured, falsely arrested, or otherwise feloniously wronged by them -- whilst the so-called "good" cops stood by and did nothing to help us. That makes police officers a gang of thugs like any other, except that they have the so-called legal system to abuse as a weapon.
@Mightylite94 Who said that we don't need police? We do need them, but they need to be held accountable for their felonies. Take Sgt. Frank Tepper, for example. One police website says that 57 internal affairs complaints were filed against him, all of which were covered up. He should have been fired years ago, before he had a chance to murder Billy Panas, Jr., 21. He is now on trial for the murder, but that will not bring young Billy back.
@PhillyCopsAreCorrupt Without Police, just think of the hell we all would be in. People would be pillaging your home, killing, raping, everything. Police are people, like everyone else... humans make mistakes, but those in L.E. the very few who mess up are quickly booted. Honestly, without cops, we would all be fucked... no doubt...
