It might be a bit dismissive, but honestly, are you going to remember another depressing clip or an awesome vid with Elizabeth Banks

Great way to get the message out!

i'm in EMS...lighten-up!

I have no problem with the idea of the videI. What I have a problem with is the dismissive way it is played out. Sure, be funny but this is way too dismissive of the seriousness of a heart attack. If you have ever tried to get someone showing the symptoms of a heart attack to go to the hospital and they don't think "it is all that serious", this is not funny. Two minutes can save a life.

From Urban Dictionary: "A symbol with X being the eyes and D being the mouth, to make a seeming of the person having squinched eyes and a mouth wide open laughing." There's other interesting info there too, if you care to look it up.

The reason the Go Red campaign focuses on women is that our symptoms are not the symptoms we usually associate with a heart attack. We may not recognize we're having a heart attack just because we're having a "hot-flash", lack of concentration, or a sore neck . . . Those things seem minor, & we're apt to ignore them. Whereas a man knows immediately what's happening if he experiences numbness on his left side & pain in his chest, we women have to be on the lookout for different signals.

@Mystefier " why not 'Go Red for Everyone?" Of course men should be supported. The AHA has many different campaigns. This happens to be the one for Women. For years heart attacks/heart disease were thought to be a 'mans problem'. Women don't think it could happen to them and ignore symptoms.
Men don't think they can get breast cancer but they can. Same with women and heart issues. It's not 'screw men' it's 'women be aware'. It could happen to one's wife/mom as easily as husband/dad.

Folks, the point is that women tend to ignore their own health putting everyone else first~ Most men tend to ignore health warnings- if it weren't for a concerned [nagging] wife /mother /daughter /girlfriend~ I am grateful to the celebrities and millionaires out there who care enough about issues to get involved and do some good!! Maybe it would be better to celebrate and elevate the scientists and doctors in our society instead of the 'Jersey Shore' cast, and Paris Hilton pseudo-celebs!
