No country in Asia really likes Japan, even today. American can adore it however it wants, but no one else in the world really does. No, seriously - name ONE other country who has any kind of military alliance with Japan. Even South Korea continues to distance itself from the Japanese. @BunkerGearGal ...atrocities. It's unfair to compare that with dissent in Germany. Despite the nazi propaganda machine, people were far more aware of what was going on because they saw Jewish members of their own communities being persecuted.

@BunkerGearGal It's true that the Japanese (as well as other Asian nationalities) tend to blindly follow their leaders without really questioning their actions more than Europeans. But to say they were complicit in war crimes is a gross exaggeration. I know this because I have interviewed several Japanese people who worked at Unit 731 (people who were ACTUALLY complicit) as well as other WWII veterans who all told me that the general public were completely ignorant of their county's ...

You can count the dissenters one one hand in Japan. That is the TRUTH! I do not expect you to believe those facts as they run in direct contravention of your apologia. But what i think. Japan should never have gone to war against America. Back then. They were under dictatorship, but Japan chose war. And they lost.
