Amongst those honoured to speak at the event are Jews worldwide, Israelis of Jewish, arab, druze, beduin and possibly other origins of various professions who made various contributions.

60 years of survival against the odds.

60 years of medical breakthroughs saving thousands of people, of technological breakthroughs helping the disabled, providing clean water through technological invention to those with little fresh water facing death and disease.

60 years of achievement from extreme 3rd world poverty to first world standard of living (albeit far to go) mixed with technological discovery and advancement of humanity not matched by others in similar situations and as tiny as Israel.

All this was without natural resources. It was due to human invention and hard work.

The next 60 years will be just as wonderous.

Happy Birthday Israel. How lovely it is to see people dancing in the streets. They look so happy, so full of love. Israel really has become a shining beacon of hope to the world. The beautiful fireworks you have been so generous with, taking them right into peoples homes to show their chldren, how considerate you are to share your beauty and love with the unfortunate poor people who by accident were born in the wrong place.

I believe Israel should be faught for, and nobody seems to give a shit because nobody really knows what's going on, how the arabs invaded and continually keep trying to push the Israelites 'into the sea'. Israel must be saved! It's been prophecised. Israel will be saved.
