The Fatbike has opened up the winter back country of Alaska to cyclists and has given non-motorized enthusiasts relatively quick access to remote areas. As with any winter sport, snow conditions contribute immensely to the enjoyment of any outing. This video represents two trips out to Knik Glacier, one to Lake George and Colony Glacier, and one to Spencer Glacier. Each starting point is located about an hour from Anchorage. All I can say is Wow;)

  • @starlightak - If you are in AK, you can rent fatbikes from Arctic Cycles or The Bicycle Shop. The Adventurers Meetup group has a few beginner rides coming up soon in the Anchorage and Matsu. Speedway bicycle shop makes the Fatback and Chain Reaction makes the 907 bike and Wildfire up in the Valley makes custom fatbikes. Hope you can get out and enjoy the winter.

  • go to Fatback.com or MTBR.com and look at the fatbike forum. Lots of ideas there.

  • I'm interested to do this but not sure where to start. Any advise?
