This video teaches the spike hyzer, the jack hyzer, and the sweeping hyzer and some of the mechanics behind the throws. Basically - it's demonstrating keeping your head down, dropping your shoulder, and what sort of angle you want your reach back to be on to successfully pull off the throw you're looking for.

  • I can see where this will come in handy. Thanks. I'm wondering if this will work with a thumb-er grip too? Making the disc turn/flip the other way.

  • @Haplo1962 It sounds like you're describing what is commonly referred to as an "in flip" or a "grenade" - a spike hyzer with the disc flipped upside down. And if that is what you mean, yes - you can get a very nice, albeit less accurate, shot that is similar to a left-handed spike hyzer (if you're throwing right-handed).

  • Chris, what kind of disc do you use?
