  • Now... put that drive train in something a tad lighter, say a caterham superlight or ariel atom chassis.

Stupid, you say? or Stupid amounts of awesomeness!

  • It is indeed a track more suitable for powerful car but nevertheless the Veyron did a good job considering she is heavy as hell and wasn't built to corner like a Elise.

Sure there are supercars with a lot less power who can go faster but it does not mean that the Veyron is slow or corner badly.

It ridiculous to say so when every journalist who tried it say it really is good even in cornering.

    4 turbo superchargers

*facepalm* some people don't know anything about FI

  • @otters72

lol that would be awesome, but all it would do is wheel spin, theoretically if you were to put an ariel atom next to the "w16" powered caterham the ariel atom would pull away with ease :) but nevertheless awesome

  • @bnm5015

Balance, stability, smoother reving, that all about multi-cylinder engines. Also Bugatti engine block can withstand 3000bhp.

  • @Duron13 have you seen the layout of the topgear track? Long straight aways with short corners. Vehicles with equal power had superior results.

  • @XenoRacing It corners so bad indeed it's one of the faster car on Top Gear's track. How funny.

  • Awesome

  • @bnm5015 The veyron weighs over 2 tonne. It cannot corner well and has bad high speed stopping power regardless of its giant disc brakes especially on a tight track. Even at relatively low speeds and has a sensitive pedal making daily driving very difficult as claimed by Jeremy Clarkson after he spun out on a few left turns driving on public roads.

  • Everyone talking about how a V8 turbo could make more power than a Bugatti does with double the cylinders needs to think about the fact that the Veyron can be driven all day, around a track, to the grocery store, leisurely or aggressively. If you had a V8 with that much power it would be noisy as hell, probably not street legal, hard (if not terrifying) to drive, and would DEFINITELY not corner well, and would probably have to have drag radials just to attempt to get traction.
