In an unusual few hours away from the office, I thought I'd look at some concepts using 'turning moments' Three forces at work here, gravity, magnetism and centrifugal (centrepetal for the purists)

  • ya know... you`ll always get some know it all telling ya that it wont work becouse of the laws of physics, these people are of course correct but if building these things as a little pass time, out of interest and learn first hand why it doesnt by experimenting and watching it then whats the harm? Its still fascinating to the person who is learning. chill out nay sayers!

  • The only problem with magnets is they seem to have this sneaky way of seeking equilibrium. I cannot see how it would ever be possible to create a self running magnet motor. You will always need some source of input or trigger to counteract the magnets desire to reach a stable state.

Good luck and may the spirits bless those who persevere.

  • Second one is like mine own idea. For self running it should slide better and 8 is not enough

  • DO NOT LISTEN TO THE NAY SAYERS !!!!!!! A scientific fact is only a measurement of what we understand at this moment in time. At one time it was an in controvertible fact that the WORLD WAS FLAT! Persevere, if it were easy anyone could do it. Good Luck

  • The person who demonstrates Perpetual Motion will not live long enough to enjoy his achievement.

  • is it possibly speeding up to a point of self-destruction. Maybe a speed limiter on it would prevent it from running "too fast" or perhaps not fast enough?

  • hmmm bearings and a lubricated run through 2 sheets of metal may work for 2nd

  • good thinking

  • Hello friend's idea is not bad but in your case I would put him at each end of the bars other fixed magnet that repels the magnet that puts you in motion when you apply force or speed the centrifugal force of magnets tend to go out if you put other magnets as actuating force centrifufa fixed magnets can repel that force and work.

I too am in search of perpetual motion but a little less mechanical.

    greetings from Venezuela ...

  • the magnets ideea its great but the quality of the construction shows that your interest its very close to null keep trying theyr physics says it should work ;) no joke
