Durability starts with clean airso we developed a new canister style, high-mounted air cleaner with a 22-percent more filter area than competitive filters.Our new filter is water repellent, protected by a full metal cage, and features an innovative triple- seal design that keeps out dirt, dust and debris. Durability also means rugged construction. Thats why our all- metal fuel tank is mounted directly to the engine block. The metal tank cuts evaporative emissions and saves fuel. Clean fuel also increases durability the New Vanguard Single Cylinder Engines feature a large and efficient sediment filter. Sediment collects in a clear bowl and is easily drained through a convenient, tool free valve. Vanguards new commercial style carburetor features additional fuel passages to provide smooth running under wide speed and load ranges. The deep ribs on our new cylinder head add strength and increase cooling and that translates into durability. The precision mating surfaces between the cylinder head and cylinder maximize sealing and torque. Adding to Vanguards durability is its new combustion chamber. Its improved air and fuel flow increases horsepower, burns cleaner and reduces emissions. Another exclusive is Vanguards forged crankshaft with dual ball bearings. This heavy duty, industrial crankshaft minimizes friction, reduces heat and maximizes durability. Its not just Durability that sets Vanguard apart from the competitionIts also Reliability.Vanguard starts easily and runs cool all day long.Vanguard features a larger ignition coil that requires lower RPMs to spark. That means you can pull the rewind slower and easier and the engine still fires up quickly and consistently. The full skirt rewind keeps out dirt and debris and allows more airflow. Air flow from our high capacity fan is 15 pecent greater than non Vanguard engines. Our engineers conducted detailed thermal analysis to design the engine shroud and direct all that cool air right over the hottest spots on the engine. Weve also minimized intake, fan and exhaust noise to achieve best-in-class noise levels. And weve maximized lubrication with a new motorsports proven rod/dipper design. Another improvement in the area of lubrication is our all new, exclusive Vanguard oil sensor that automatically shuts down the engine in low oil conditions! After exhaustive testing in the lab and in the field, this innovative new design has proven to be highly effective in safeguarding the engine without prematurely shutting down when run at an angle or in high-vibration conditions.
