To mark National Read Aloud Days 2012, Gerlien van Dalen, director of the Reading Association of the Netherlands (Stichting Lezen) and Eppo van Nispen tot Sevenaar, director of the Foundation for the Collective Promotion of the Dutch Book (CPNB), open the trading day at the Amsterdam exchange.
The Reading Association is the initiator of the National Read Aloud Days, and the CPNB is involved in the organisation of the event. This year's read aloud events will take place from Wednesday 18 January to Saturday 28 January. The objective of the campaign is to encourage adults to read to children who are still too young to read.
