This is the kind of tune Jessi does best...from the concept album White Mansion, which if you don't know tells the story of the Civil War

  • This freaking incredible album deserved MUCH more promotion than it received. So gorgeous, so much talent. Waylon, Jessi, Clapton, etc. Unfortunately, I think the record's appeal was limited because it was a Civil War "theme" and no one in the North gave a rip, late 70s, and the album was not "satin & sequins" enough to get played in Southern radio. People of soul and wisdom, however, loved this record. So did people who just plain liked danged good songwriting.

  • @Vengeance509 I reckon music should be judged as music and not influeced by political bias the Civil War is fact and nothing in our or future lifetimes will change the outcome ..so sit back and enjoy the show after all we aint done bad so far .. thanks for the comment.

  • hi is there anybody who can tell me how many of these record were ever made ,.

i was bort up with this on the country and western scene and was told not many were made .

can any body give me some figures . many thanks ..

the best record of my life .

  • Hi again as far as i understand it

'' White Mansions '' was the only album by Waylon Jessi and co, it was a concept album about the Civil war, an idea conceived by Englishman Paul Kennerly... there is another album the legend of Jesse James , That is with Johnny Cash, Levon Helm, Emmylou Harris and Charlie Daniels. I aint heard that and couldn't tell you much about it .I think White mansions is still available from Amazon tc my friend

  • my mom used to listen to the white mansions album so much . we played this at her funeral .. 23/12/2009 rip mom . love you loads ..

  • When I first listened to this album, I was left utterly devastated. This is the opening song, and if it don't bust up your insides, well then, you ain't human.God bless you, Jessi..

  • I'd have to put the Jesse James as equal, absolutely amazing...

  • @teddie488

i have both "concept albums" and both are excellent!

  • @oddballlimos I really couldn't tell you that but I still possess an original gatefold with insert and all I will say is that it is a really beautifully themed and produced album, the songs of which still haunt when I hear them.

  • many thanks teddie .. these kind of songs bring it to heart .

many thanks again . chat soon xx
