The time has come to present some more music from France... First up is this elegant slow-fox performed by the famed orchestra of Ray Ventura et ses Collégiens. "Je crois bien que c'est l'amour" (I do believe this must be love) was recorded in 1935 and released as the B-Side to the hit tune "Tout va très bien, madame la Marquise" (All is well, madame marquess).

The video contains images of Paris in these prewar years as well as some of theFrench artists who put their stamp on this decade : Mistinguett, Josephine Baker, Charles Trenet, Maurice Chevalier, Elyane Celis, Tino Rossi and so on... The list is by no means complete and serves just as an illustration...

The pictures and sheet music are from my personal collection.

About the record :

Pathé - PA624 / mx. CPT2067

The record is in perfect condition and was transferred without cleaning effects.

Sound equipment used :
Ortofon Om78 cartridge and stylus (for recording, for general playback I use the Shure M78S Cartridge & stylus)
Turntable : Stanton T.90
TerraTec 78RPM Phono Pre-amp

After processing, this video will also be offered in HD.
However whether this function works will depend on your Internet connection and the abilities of your computer (your screen may freeze).

After uploading it will take some time for the image to be fully processed (and become sharp)

Enjoy!

Merci!

  • Avec plaisir!
