The large male Mandarin fish will follow and chase the female until she decides it is time to mate. They will both come together and slowly float upward for a few seconds and then disconnect. This video was taken at Rainbow Reef with Yap Divers. video and Photos by Kim Brungraber

is the male or female bigger......cause if the males smaller this makes no sense there are fish that the male is bigger....but then other fish the female is bigger.....does anyone know why this is?
