CAD
The user has a choice of two methods in creating the layout for his project with Ventilation Professional.
The architect or engineer for the general one line layout of elements on his or her project may use the Trace Line method in the design stage.
The Construction method is the layout required by Mechanical Engineers and Mechanical, Sheet Metal, and HVAC Contractors for the layout and coordination of their elements to be installed in the building project. Complex duct connections can be created automatically. Transitions, offsets, elbows and other complicated fittings can be created with a click of your mouse. Construction standards can be set up according to specific SMACNA or self generated specifications. In a short period of time, a realistic 3D drawing is created from a Trace Line drawing.
Upon verification of the design as clear of structural elements and other elements installed by other trades, a file for the job is created. Information can be sent to your plasma table or coil line for production, or can be printed out for manual shop fabrication.
Integrated calculation
The user can assign air volume and pressure losses at the air distribution devices. A maximum velocity must be assigned to the system. The system pressure loss can now be calculated. The pressure loss values are calculated dynamically and therefore provide an exact result
Piping Professional is used for designing pipelines, including chilled and hot water, air lines, vacuum systems and other industrial process piping systems.
Entire piping systems can be drawn with the Trace Line method. A three dimensional plan can then be created. It is not only possible to draw pipes with a fixed, solid shape (with separate elbows and other fittings) but also pipes which are flexible and pipes requiring external insulation.
calculation of sprinkler systems as well as deluge
All installation parts required, such as adapters, elbows, connectors and hangers are created automatically at the correct angle and elevations. The system can create piece number designations. As with the Ventilation Professional files for fabrication can be transmitted or printed out for shop fabrication of the pieces within the system.
With the simple functions of Sprinkler Professional the sprinkler system is drawn with the Trace Line method. The sprinklers are automatically positioned on the plan in their optimum position after selecting the sprinkler types, parameters, protection zones and heights.
Sprinkler Professional meets all code parameters for the sprinkler system. All sprinkler components, such as sprinklers, pipelines, pumps, valves, etc., are available in databases.
With C.A.T.S. Software for Mechanical Ventilation, Piping, Sprinkler and cooling load calculations, the user is not drawing lines any more. In a very short time, he plans and calculates effectively the exact technology he needs for his project. List of material is sent to the producer material and will be delivered exactly to the building site.
C.A.T.S. Software has been the market leader in Europe for intelligent software used in technical building applications for over 20 years. The CAD application is based on Autodesk AutoCAD software, which is globally recognized as the standard in the architectural, engineering and building
construction sectors. More than 2,000 clients including architects, engineers, contractors and planers globally are currently using our products. Our product version for public use in the United States of America and Canada is to be released in January of 2009. The software has been in use and tested in the US over the past 12 months with tremendous success.

Can this be done with reflected ceiling plans and fire alarm device layout to prevent similar conflicts with smoke detector, duct detector and heat detector placement?
Great presentation.
