This footage is of the worlds biggest water fight which takes place every year in Thailand from the 13th of April. For many centuries Songkran has celebrated the traditional New Year and the arrival of the wet season. The water is meant as a symbol of washing all of the bad away, a time for cleansing and renewal as well as bringing good luck and prosperity.
Traditionally it was gently poured over the shoulder of elders and family but in recent times it has evolved into a huge water fight and a great way to cool down in Thailands hottest month of the year.
Thailands neighbour Laos, also celebrates the New Year with their own water festival known as Pii Mai.
It is the best party you will ever go to if you don't mind getting wet!!

Soundtrack: Man Tong Thon by Poifhai Malaiporn
Camera: Canon 5D Mark II with DigiPac waterproof casing
