  • fruRonja well done , one of the best, on the whole of utube

  • @scribbled309 He also was playing ''many years before he was forced by the record company to play ''more comercial stuff'' such as this beautiful song.....Check out Dr Hook an the medicine show.....And Shel Silverstein...???

  • @kja427 as bobbilse has already pointed out, this is an old song by Sam Cooke. You must be quite young to have never heard this song by either Sam Cooke or anyone else who has covered it, and second you must not have listened closely to the lyrics. Rolling Stone magazine a few years ago had a list of the best singers ever. Sam Cooke was listed #4, behind only Aretha, Ray Charles and Elvis. Do yourself a favor and give him a listen. Some of his better songs are: Cupid; Chain Gang; and You Send Me

  • @bobbilse My Sentiments exactly

  • Grew up loving this and all of his romantic sexy songs. Takin a trip down memory lane.

  • You know, as a teen, I had written this guy off as a gimmick singer of songs like 'Sexy Eyes' and 'When You're in Love...' -- but he's got genuine soul chops. And though this is a cover of Sam Cooke he seems to really owe a debt to Otis Redding. Either way, the real article.

  • @kja427 ... The lyrics state this is being sung by a 17 year old boy, who was also 16, same as the girl, the year before. This was originally a "Top-40" hit for Sam Cooke in 1959. Sam wrote it. It's merely a song about high school puppy love. Modern times can cause one to read more in to it, I suppose, but there's nothing there.

  • @kja427
