I was told there all done I grew up in Hancock Md where its use to run from Cumberland to Hagerstown but since 1986 railroad been tooking out to be the Rails n Trails bike path. The only units i ever known and seen is the Steam and ALCO In Cumberland.

ah so tht FA unit use to run on the LIRR....well its good to see tht unit in WM paint..septa has one of the other ex LIRR alco FA's along with an F7..they use both units in work train service along with an RS18..great vid!!!

Sounds like the opening of the overture to an Opera by Wagner! All that powerful sound coming in in such a dramatic setting. Love it!

@DeathDragon316 They run every day on the old WM out of Elkins WV. I think they even got more units painted up now...

Does the also FA still have it's original Alco motor in it?

@CSXtrackworker No. Its just a shell. It was converted to a cab control unit for the Long Island Railroad years ago.

This is still there, and you can ride many of the trains in the Elkins, WVA area. I think what everyone is saying is that the Western Maryland is gone, and this is whats left of the railroad that once served the coal and wood industries in the area. This was also almost gone forever, and thank goodness it has been preserved. It is well worth the trip to see this, and the Cass railway. There is a lot to do, and see down here. Thanks for looking.
