Act 3 clip 3: sextet ('Riconosci in questo amplesso') & Letter Duet ('Che soave zeffiretto').

Mozart's opera, The Marriage of Figaro. (Met 1999)

Figaro is recognized by his birthmark as the long lost son of Marcellina and Bartolo (and so doesn't have to repay their loan after all). Countess dictates letter to Susanna to fool the Count into thinking that Susanna wants to meet him in the garden at night.

  • This scene shows why Bartoli was such a wondeful spicy Susanna -- she goes crosseyed with jealosy and is credible and funny at the same time. Bartoli and Fleming singing together was such a treat -- they are both such complete musicians.
