Wat does him stoping suicidal high kids from blowing up the school have to do with stoping drug use, they culd just have a reg police officer there. # DARE doesn't work

My nephew & his friends say the buzz around school is that the DARE program sparked their interst in drugs they never gave a thought to prior to the class. Too much talk about each drug & their effect. Makes kids curious.

They want to BUST PEOPLE--for possession of drugs!! Marijuana, cocaine, possession of unauthorized prescription drugs, minor in possession of alcohol,--you name it! But D.A.R.E. programs simply don't work for--drug abuse prevention!

Dare is almost as big of waste of taxpayer(thats you) money as the DEA.

I am definitely against violence and kids coming to school with guns and other weapons is a scary thought.
The truth is most schools should and do have a liason officer on site for this sort of thing. I don't think it would be much of a deal to ask him to give a general public safety awareness speech once a year or so as opposed to all-out shoving anti-drug propaganda down kids throats.
DARE is not needed and schools waste money on the program.

Youtube won't let me post URLs, but DARE does not work and might actually be counter-productive since it makes kids curious about drugs after they hear about them. If you can use google you can find links to some reputable news articles which show studies done by universities that dare does not reduce drug use at all and might actually increase it.
In 2001, the Surgeon General of the United States placed the D.A.R.E. program in the category of "Does Not Work".
