I think the guy in the glasses is an Commissioned Officer (Lieutenant, Lieutenant-Commander, Commander, Captain, etc.) by the shoulderboards on his uniform. I know for certain that in the US Military the Officers wear shoulderboards with their rank on them as part of their dress-uniform.

and this is WHY I will always respect a certain kind of Pakeha from Aotearoa. In Hawaii you think we would have Pakeha doing anything remotely Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiian)? FAT CHANCE. America has missed the boat completely on certain things and respecting indigenous culture is ONE OF THEM.

My aunt lives in Nz. We went there when I was three to see her new house. I saw a Maori Haka Performance! I git kinda scared at first but tyhen little boys my age came out and I thought it was cool! We also got to see some Rugby practice. When we were driving all we saw was sheep then cows thn sheep then cows. Nz is a beautiful country. I can't wait to go again!
