  • @RuflessRecords it never "became a tax cut only for the rich"....the truth about the Bush tax cuts is that it dropped half the population off the tax rolls altogether so that we're screwed financially because 47% pay 0 federal taxes.

As apparently they did back then too, the lying Dems claimed it was "only fer the rich" but the reality was Bush took half the population from paying little in fed taxes down to 0, and in many cases, getting free money from the IRS.

  • @RuflessRecords It's an easier sell if you've lived through the Bush tax cuts and literally seen what was sold as a tax cut for everyone become solely a tax cut for the wealthy after the first year. You really think e.g. Herman Cain wanting to shift the tax burden from income tax onto sales tax (not to mention cutting capital gains totally) and presumably cutting things which only benefit the poor such as welfare, food stamps, unemployment and pensions isn't a tax cut only for the rich?

  • Its amazing its the same thing just different words and people 20+ years latter

  • I like this era of the 1980's elections where it sounds like the Dem pres candidates are running scared and trying to show how much they care about defense spending and don't want to raise taxes.

I notice the lying Democrats were trying to sell their "tax cuts for all means tax cuts only for the rich" line back then too.

  • Wow what a shrimp Dukaka was, was he a midget? he would have been the first midget president if he had won.

  • @cpblackangel88 Well, look at it this way. If you are rich you have much more to loose. So you should pay a higher share of the military, police and security budget for example. You also have more to gain from the state. If you are a business owner you most likely profit from fire departments, eductation system, road system, etc...

Please also consider that as a rich person you have much more possibilities to get creative with the tax code, simple because you can hire a good accountant.

  • @mmcward That's why you're an idiot.

  • The Dems always say the rich pay to little and defense spending is to high. Currently today in America the top 5% pay for 50% of the government. That's not right. It's like buying a product at a store and you have to pay more, because you can afford to pay more. And you don't get a better product. They always say the rich get special rights and they never explain what they are. And if you want to lower the national debt go back to a Constitutional sized government and get rid of the income tax.

  • Has anyone viewed, "IOUSA"? Just watched it and was shell-shocked. It should be required viewing for every American with any brains.

  • Don't you ever get sick and tired of hearing politicians twisting every question around so they can promote themselves whatever way they want, even if it isn't relevant. I say, "Americans, unite!" Time to require integrity, true leadership (at every level), courage to step out of the bipartisan crap that is ruining the country, and come up with solutions to these horrendous problems we have these days.
