For those who have vermin/pet issues you can try this. My buddy always has a big garden each year but here in the North, winter can be a problem. He has a sun room and came up with this idea. Go to an appliance store that has old refridgerators they are throwing out. Look for the plastic vegetable drawers units on the bottom with the see-thru plastic top. You can put you seedlings in the drawers and close them up. The clear top allows light thru and holds moisture and you can stack them.

@Carrie3570 LOL. I was trying to not be too graphic...all of a sudden. ;) Yes we have a huge rat problem in this city. I have , literally, seen them climb up the sides of a building totally vertically. They get into everything.

@Carrie3570, The roots break right through.

@MrTimotheus85 Exciting isn't it!
It will be interesting to see how things go. I wish I had somewhere to plant these types of things but DC so over run with...vermin. It won't even last past the sprouting stage. I am assuming these get put in the ground eventually?

@gfreakj Yes sir. We will be planting them in the backyard. You think you can do some hanging plants? You can grow different herbs in them and maybe even some veggies that don't have deep roots. Just thinking out of the box if you are interested and trying to grow a little something.

@Carrie3570 I am interested but I had a neighbor grow hanging tomatoes and woke one morning to find one bite taken out of each one...after all that work.

@gfreakj OMG!!! I thought you were talking about bugs! So basically, you would need to find something that grows indoors. I wonder if you could plant in a pot you could take outside when you are home and then bring it inside when you are gone and at night? Now you got me thinking, lol.

Do you need to break the outside or do the roots grow through them?

@chuck200453 I would think the roots will break through them. I'm not sure, it's my first time using these, but the wrapping is very thin so I have to go with the roots will break through. I will let you know. This afternoon I looked at the greenhouse and there are already a few sprouting. It hasn't even been 24 hours.
