Self insertion in a story? I'LL show you self insertion!

Yeah! Comix Zone! This game was seen as something different and cool when it first came out. And it was/is. The one thing I remember, though? It's short! This makes for a perfect test subject for new (and borrowed) capture device! (My main one can't read the Genesis signal.)
Anyway, this is a beat-em up that takes place in a comic book with puzzles placed here and there. The comic book is only 6 pages long, though! What a rip-off! I mean, if it were a real one. That's like... barely suitable for promotional comics!
If you watch the intro, you'll have the gist of the story: Sketch Turner - you - gets sucked into his own comic book, gains the ability to kick butt and proceeds to do so. Not much to wrap your head around. Oh, and his rat Roadkill came along for the ride, too, gaining the ability to electrocute his enemies.
Cripes.
So, uh... come along for the ride, if you like. Nothing "special" about these videos - I just try to get through in one piece!
(NOT EMULATED. Played on a Sega Genesis system.)

Gotta get through the game set up and exposition, here.
That's a pretty good voice clip at the start. Wonder how much it cost them (space-wise)?
For custom, it's really best to have manual blocking. I mean, you CAN have a special move put there, but they all can be executed with the proper inputs:
Up-Down-Attack, Down-Up-Attack, Back-Forward-Attack
"New York City, Present Day" - good attempt at keeping it relevant!
"Just a drawing"? Never knew one that can grab ya...
Episode One: "Night of the Mutants"
Page One (1:20)
------
I think this is a good set of panels/pages (areas/stages) to open the game with! Doesn't come at you easy, though, it IS easier than later pages!
1:25 - Yeah, you can head onwards, but I'll let you see what Alissa has to say. (The last line I cut out was "You may need some of these items...", I had already grabbed them.
2:40 - Path Branches - You can see the other path in the "Extras video", though I suggest you wait until you see the whole game first: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzmU1GjydHw
2:53 - Yup, the fist turns me into a super hero - basically it's a smart bomb.
3:23 - Yeah. What you thought happend, DID happen.
4:12 - That "Deja Vu" only makes sense if you go the other way on the earlier path choice. Odd they left it in should you take the sewer route.
4:38 - What a maroon! My taunts got him! (Come to think of it... he's kinda colored maroon, isn't he?)

"Night of the Mutants"

5:30 - Those things spit out "crawlers" - I never give them a chance to drop. (You'll see the critters outta the cocoon later)
5:57 - I love how the rat's name is Roadkill! (Useful little sucker!)
6:33 - Notice how I lost health from doing that move? Whenever a special move hits a target, you lose a bit of health (even if blocked).
7:55 - Freaky, these mutants transform into those fighters! Multipurpose Mutants. Neat!
8:24 - That's another way to beat someone - by knocking outta the book! (Kinda a glitch, actually)
8:45 - BOSS
8:55 - Here's the sneaky way of snuffing out the Queen!
may i ask if this is the model 1 genesis you are using? the quality is superb in both video and audio. way better then mine i think.
