I just bought a used canon 1ds and I really love compare to my canon 40d... The one 1ds is step higher than 1d... 1ds has 11.1 megapickels lol and 1d has only 4mp...
but, again, images taken with a 1D cannot be cropped without a huge quality loss.
for a regular user (who never prints its pictures and don't have much knowledge of picture editing) a 1D is more than enough, but if you're going "pro", it feels nice but outdated, compared to a D90.
Well, I didnt say that I own one.. I'd say the construction and body if I bought it. The ISO Technology is a bit old. But I only use like ISO 50-640 only (there isnt going to be much noise for low ISO). 4mpix isnt that big of a deal, but mpix isnt that important anyway its the sensor size that counts.
sure they can: noise performance, sharpness, sensor, and so on.
1D is a beast, it's cool and all. it's a "pro" body and feels like one, but I've seen great shots taken with a 300D. so what are you paying here? the body? the construction? megapixels? funcions?
1D is nice, but too noisy and way-too-sharp. the 4mpx may not seem like a big deal, but they are. you can't make a crop without a HUGE quality loss. simple as that. :(
@ProfetaParanoia I used it for shooting skate/snowboarding to sync flashes in broad daylight.

agree. sensor size counts big time...
