It's impossible to take 51 years of a man's life and put it into a 4 minute timeline, but here goes...

I spent the better part of 2011 working under Rafael Colon, known as Rafy at the Seminole Casino in Hollywood, FL. The only thing I can say is that he was the best boss. Always pleasant to us and the guests. He always laughed, smiled and cracked jokes. He was an all around great guy. Someone you might aspire to become.

I once heard a story that he escaped a major fire in a Puerto Rico Casino that claimed 97 lives in 1986. I didn't believe it until I read this....

It doesn't surprise me. Rafy was a fighter and found a solution to every problem. He loved his family as he talked about them often. I had the pleasure of meeting his wife, Marie, and 2 sons, Rafael, and David.

I was a complete mess editing this project. It took me 3 days because I couldn't compose myself long enough after looking thru all of these wonderful photos of his life.

I hope these pictures keep him alive in or hearts. It's the least I could do for such a great man.

The song is by Mt. Eden and Ruby Frost. Here are the lyrics. After reading them, you will understand why I chose this song for his life. At the end of the song Ruby says "He navigates, when I've lost my way
He reminds me, to lift my eyes...." I couldn't of said it better myself.

We all love and miss you dearly, Rafy. Heaven picked up a good person. We know you will make everyone laugh. Your image of a good human being will forever be burned in my heart, and for that I thank you. -Jerry Ascione

Oh that I had, the wing of a dove, to rest on me

This is not new to me
As I sit in this boat
But I'm so cold my bones, will freeze
And there's nought through the haze
I've been waiting so long
But my hour has gone, away

Oh that I had, the wing of a dove, to rest on me

This is not new to me
As I sit in this boat
But I'm so cold my bones, will freeze
And there's nought through the haze
I've been waiting so long
But my hour has gone, away

To fly back with, a branch in its beak, to rescue me.

Oh that I had, the wing of a dove, to rest on me

This is not new to me
As I sit in this boat
But I'm so cold my bones, will freeze

Oh that [4x]
Oh that I had, the wing of a dove, to rest on me

This is not new to me
As I sit in this boat
But I'm so cold my bones, will freeze
And there's nought through the haze
I've been waiting so long
But my hour has gone, away

He navigates, when I've lost my way
He reminds me, to lift my eyes

Oh that I had, the wing of a dove, to rest on me
