I mate, come on the intro is to long. This is stupid, do they teach you this is pre-school. Next do one on using a light on your dj system.

Ask yourself, do you need one?

Next you want to read the instructions on how to turn it on, is it a know or twist?

You will want to know where is the best placement for the light, will you need it for the mixer or maybe for reading papers.

Never have the light close to your eyes as it may burn you lashes.

When shouldI take the light down?

Good vid and tip! I would also add that you need to pay attention to the different types of mics out there when you purchase one. DJ's generally don't want an omnidirectional mic, as it will pick up everything, including your voice coming from the speakers = feedback. Omnidirectional mics tend to cause a lot of feedback, look into unidirectional style or cardiod or super cardioid mics.

Great tips, I always use a fresh set of battery's every time. Batteries are cheap enough that its not worth messing up an important intro or havig the mic cut out on the best man speech. You can always use the old batteries at home or let the kids use them in their gameboys!!!

I agree with resting mic on chin. Also if the client needs to use the mic this method is easy to explain and creates less problems with sound adjustments. Some times when you pass the mic to a punter and they hear their own voice, the first thing they do is pull it away...so tell them " rest it on your chin" Cheers!

You never cup the top of the Mic, thats correct. There are various types of Microphones available for different purposes. If you were a singer, the Mic may be slightly different.

Good Job, I must do some more sensible Videos...I still have my first decent mic from 20 years ago..Audio Technica Corded its beaten but still sounds good, I just use a Shure PG.58 with a Shure PG.48 as secondary or back up. To be honest i think the 48 sounds crisper..its much cheaper. Cordless is something i must get into again had a cheap one but that has given the ghost, must get my act into gear! trouble is since I decided to update it seems never ending! keep them coming! rgds jason
