The next video in the series of the conversion of a school bus to an RV. In this video, the ceiling has been insulated, and the insulated subfloor has been installed. Music is "Unputdownable" by DeVision.

YouTube is claiming a copyright infringement with the song that I selected, but I obtained permission to use the song from both the band and the band's record label, Drakkar Entertainment.

I would like to thank both Drakkar and DeVision for letting me use their song! :)

  • Hello, great work! quick question, do you screw or nail the frame to the floor at all? i was wondering cause if you do the the same thing for the steps how will they stay? Just trying to follow your masterpiece to use on my bus

  • @GodTubeLDE Ya, I screwed the 2X2s to the bus floor. I have a new bus now, and I'm having to start over but I plan on doing everything pretty much the same on this new bus. You can see the new bus, a full-sized Ford F700 Thomas, if you go to my channel. With the steps, the plan is to insulate pretty much the same way the floor was done, framed in with 2X2s, then everything will be covered with laminate flooring. Masterpiece? Not sure about that, but thanks anyway! :)

Great! i hate to sound like a nag, nut i was just wondering how you screwed it to the floor. did you hsve to pre drill holes or some self tapping screw? my floor looks like its at least a inch thick of steel ,i dont know.

  • @GodTubeLDE An inch thick steel floor would weigh several thousand pounds by itself, even on a short bus. The steel on your floor should be about 1/8 inch thick with 3/4 or 5/8 inch plywood over that and then covered with 1/4 inch rubber. I removed the plywood and rubber from my floor to make sure there wasn't a rust problem. What I did was to pre-drill 1/8 inch holes through the 2x2s and through the steel floor then use self-tapping fine-thread Grabber screws to fasten the 2x2s down.

  • subbed... skoolie.net anyone ? :P

  • @timmylc LOL Yep, skoolie.net is a great site for getting lots of ideas and talking them over with others. :)

  • Great video thanks, I am converting a 1975 40" Denning to travel Australia and if any one wants to swap ideas and photos etc please drop me a message. The insulation you are using is it polystyrene sheets (like eski or cooler insulation)? if so aren't you worried about fire risk?

  • We are working on getting our bus ready to travel around Australia. Its interesting seeing what other people are doing with their buses :) thanks for sharing !

  • I want to see convertions buses into cabins and such.Without intending to drive them again. Still an interesting project though!

  • why does the floor need to have wooden frame? Polyurethane sheets are strong enough to hold the pressure...

  • Nice man! Still waiting o nthe vids of tile floor! I'm gonna be doing something similar soon, but with a 40 footer.
