Schizo Auteur and Brut sculptor David Isakson created this piece in memoriam of Rooster Frank, longtime worker in New York City's garment district. Born to Belgian parents in 1946 Frank Vogel had a natural relationship with birds, as a child, he could be seen in Battery Park with pigeons landing on his arms, later in life this earned Frank Vogel, the moniker, Rooster Frank. Frank started his own handtruck service in 1965, and served the garment industry faithfully throughout his life. In 1976 Rooster Frank was, quite literally, struck by a crosstown bus, trying to save an injured dove from traffic. The irony of this tragedy, was lost on no one. He is survived by his wife Angela, daughter Sophie, and his son Frank Jr.
