Richard Wolff - noted author, Marxist economist, and activist addressed Occupy Marin on January 7, 2012.

Imagine a democratic alternative to police evictions of Occupy encampments across America's cities and towns. What if the decision to evict or not had been made by referendum? Voters could have determined whether to continue the long overdue public debates over inequality, injustice and capitalism that were launched and sustained above all by the Occupy encampments.

  • @all4hewhosaves people should not care about government excuses, government will always make excuses for acting in the name of the 1%, since the people that do lobbying never really come to show their faces and say what they want. well if they did, they would not be the 1%, would they? that's why, to hell with government excuses about "why to go to war", "why to take away ur rights", etc. Goverment always bows to power, they need it.

I say, give power to the people, the control of SURPLUS.

  • @tironi333 It's a shame but many people still get there info from mainstream news. Fox is the worst but there are many.I was told today that our government after 911 said the exact words as Hittler. "In the interest of national defense" Im searching for link. Im not so good at search

  • how the fuck can someone not agree with this shit

  • @Acheyfeet one can still admire the pioneering work, efforts and ideas of men like marx & darwin, and appreciate the fact that even though it was a long time ago, the core of their theories still ring true today. we know, for example, it's a different world from that which isaac newton grew up in, but thanks to him, we more fully understand how gravity works

people like wolff, et al., are standing on the shoulders of giants and carrying us further toward a more just & caring society.

  • Marxist? That's an unfortunate word, and perhaps not so accurate considering that a whole century and a half has passed since Marx wrote anything. To call the truthful explanation of our current economy "Marxist" is like calling our contemporary understanding of gene mutation "Darwinism".

  • thanks for the video! :)
