Senna is a documentary about about the life and death of Brazilian motor-racing champion, Ayrton Senna.

It explores his arrival in Formula One in the mid 1980s, and follows his struggles both on track against his rival, French World Champion Alain Prost, and off it, against the internal politics of the sport.

Directed by Asif Kapadia, it won the World Cinema Audience Award for documentaries at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.

It opens in the UK on June 3, 2011

  • An absolutely astounding film - the only film I ever seen where not one person made noise during the film, and every person remained until the credits finished rolling. Senna - as captivating on film as he was in life. Please, if you already haven't, see this movie.
