Just a thought -- how about drilling a thumbhole in the back to make an A for your right hand?

I've only heard the two parts. Kurt, could you link to a video showing somebody playing the extra parts? Thanks!

they are indeed half bagpipes, half couch! Couchpipes? Scottish Smallsofa?
About a thumbhole for the lower hand, I had a set of Julian Goodacre Cornish pipes that had that and I never used it. Just couldn't get the hang of it.

Royalpiper57, there's really not much to know: these are simply two Gibson long practice chanters put into a custom double stock. I've plugged the tophand holes on one chanter and the bottomhand D, C#, and B holes on the other chanter. So, using ordinary Scottish fingering, one chanter or the other is always playing Low A, what Julian Goodacre calls a "virtual drone".
