Nah, I don't see Clooney and Grant as good replacements for Roger and Tony - they're both too old and have personas that are too well known.
My picks would be Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother) as Danny Wild, and Matthew Goode (Leap Year, Brideshead Revisited) as Brett Sinclair.
Michael Caine is a good pick for the Judge, though. Anthony Hopkins would be alright too.

George Clooney is 5'11" and Colin Firth is 6'1".....they are compatible in height and their could be good chemistry for these rolls.
Michael Caine could be a great selection as the Judge. He is 6'2", although he just might be in the wheel chair for most of the film. Although, it was shown that he didn't need the wheelchair after all. My thoughts.

Robert Downey Jnr and Daniel Craig would make a great 'Persuaders!' team !! Though having said that I do think The Persuaders! as was made in the 70s could not be made now, all the Americans like is testosterone-heavy, explosion-packed, gadget-ridden, technology-full drama - not tongue in cheek, light hearted, suspend your disbelief fun like Roger and Tony offered in abundance :-(
