People need to know your history. The Beatles discovered the Stones and were good friends. April 14,1963 The Beatles first saw the Stones play. Later, George Harrison recommended to Decca Records (the recording label that passed on the Beatles) to sign the Rolling Stones to a deal. John and Paul wrote this song for them to use for a single and subsequently did their own version 3 wks later. It was the press who created The Beatles vs The Stones argument. Get over it; they are both great!
