There is no shortage of Hotels on St. Pete Beach and the line up is dominated by the elegant old Don Ceasar...but since 'opulent' is not our cup of tea, we were very happy at the friendly, more intimate, Trade winds Sandpiper.
The colorful suites, while smallish, have everything you could need, from a well stocked galley kitchen, 2 Tvs , and do ask for a room with a 'heart stealing' Ocean view.
Pick a hammock , Stake out a Cabana.. or stroll the endless white sands of St. Pete, and get friendly with the 'wildlife'
It's all about laying back, at the Sandpiper
Families may prefer Sandpiper's big sister the TradeWinds Island Grand, a few sand castles away. There's more for kids...(paddle boats, resident swans and and a kids club keep everyone smiling).

I was in St Pete Beach a couple months ago... Great sunsets on the Gulf and you can see the Egmont lighthouse from there.
