Hey, I'm Scott Wurgler, 19, living in Eugene Oregon. All I do is drum, every single day of my life. I'm self-taught and play all by feel... I listen to all styles of music and try to just imitate da beats, and then from there try an make em my own. I currently play in a band called Strays, you can check us out on myspace: "Enjoy Strays Music"

So really what you hear from me, the credit goes to all of these guys: Favorite drummers include: John Bonham, Chad Smith, Matt Cameron, Jose Pasillas, Danny Carey, Brad Wilk, Questlove, Stephen Perkins, Dave Abbruzesse, Sean Kinney, Max Roach, Buddy Rich... Maybe more...

  • That was great man. By the way, is that pearl jam's ten behind you?

  • Thanks man Aha yea Pearl Jam Ten fo shoo. and then Incubus as well

  • yah this is deffinantly primus inspired!

and how could you self teach yourself to this level? so many of these things are drum rudiments, et cetera

  • um... i dont know man, i listen to a lot of music an hear what drummers are doing and then just go do it on my own

  • Thanks for the feedback everyone, very much appreciated! And yes that's john the fisher man to start things off haha, oh and to ''ryanmcdrums'' I have no idea if its singles or 6 stroke roll at 1:52, like i said im self taught and learn everything by ear and play all by feel. Thanks again for taking time to comment. I dig em all good and bad!!

  • any one else hear take the power back- rage? :) starting from 3:00 I think

  • Finally some one with the balls to Drum with out loud music drowning out their drums to hide lack of skills!

  • ahaha. I love how the intro is pretty much John the Fisherman, very nice. This is tight, bro. Keep up the work.

  • if you enjoy doing it, keep doing it. don't pay any attention to the haters like "mvnjuan" who sound like guys frustrated because no band will take (or keep) them.

with that said, lessons ARE ALWAYS a good idea. Neil Peart, Vinnie Colaiuta, and many other bonafide virtuosos still take lessons to this day. there is always room for improvement!

look into getting a Tama "rhythym watch" metronome. you can mount it onto your hi-hat stand and practice to a click. it's a HUGE help.

    Cheers!!

  • then u should consider getting some lessons, ur technique is terrible, so is ur hand speed, and ur fills are just basic stuff, need to learn how accentuate and do rudiments

  • awesome dude

  • you're pretty good keep playing :-)

  • I'm surprised you don't name Tim Alexander or Brain in your influences given the amount of Primus-related material in here. That being said, solid playing!

  • You were playing John the Fisherman at the beginning.

  • sick dude. ive got to post another video soon. the one i have now is crap. keep rockin.
