  • 70.3 god damn

  • he was like having peyton manning, ed reed, and craig hentrich all in one

    talk about fantasy football

  • sammy was my grandpas first cousin..... we went and visited him in rotan quite a bit and i remember him saying that he prolly wouldnt even make the practice squad of a NFL team now a days!

  • You are so right! This is one throw-back player that would easily be a winner in today's era too. Can you imagine any of the current NFL QBs tossing 4 TDs in a game, and ALSO intercepting 4 passes from the opposing team's QB all in the same game? Lots of players are great.....Sammy Baugh was legendary.

  • The more I learned about Slingin' Sammy the more I would throw his name into conversations about the best QB ever. Then, one day it hit me! You can't limit this man to best QB...he belongs in the best PLAYER category.

  • Well look to he played safety and punter HE WAS AN IRON MAN. They didnt work out or anything either they just had the gift.

  • @SIMPLYTEETS Yeah, rosters were small too. You had to play the whole game, regardless of small injuries. Nowadays they jump on the IR for nothing. I guess it all has to do with money. Back then the team was your boss and you got paid to win games. Now, everyone is a free agent and is out playing for themselves. There weren't any steroids either.

  • LOL. I hate guys like that. Man guys were getting takled by the face, getting punched and getting hit in the knees all the time.

  • i think they were refering to the size and speed of todays players! i believe SLINGING SAMMY dealt with guys that weigh no more than 240 lbs! i dont think theres any player of that era that was over 300 lbs!

  • when sayin that, you have to put these players in every era of football to see if their skill sets would work! i dont know what position baugh would play if this was 1975 or 1995? vice versa. so i wouldnt call anybody the best ever of all time! cuz football is over 100 years old! and each decade holds phenomenal players!
