Time sensor for sports or other use. Featuring an IR beam and vife 7 segment LED displays. First prototype so the sensor is build inside a shoebox ;)

Several extra buttns not shown such as:
- reset (stop and clear timing)
- delay (ignore passages)
- last lap (during next lap)
- flip switch for single lap or continious mode

  • I used a standard IR-kit for the IR-beam. That can be purgased at most electro shops. Furthermore lots of wires, a few LED's and 595 shift registers to control the 7 segment displays.

    It al looks more impressive than it is ;) I've uploaded the code at the arduino forum so you might want to check it out there!

  • hi i dont suppose you have a schematic by any chance?

  • when you say you used a shoe box would it be possible to use outdoors or would the whole thing not work? also how would it work if you made two separate beams for start & stop
