  • Shields may be placed against the body here and then used to impede Your Grace, but one may not 'strike' the body with the shield. In reviewing the video, I did not see anything that was outside of the norm (even with the more extensive use of it towards the end of the fight) for what is often done here. So it could indeed be that there is more aggressive shield work here. Often shields are used to punch at opponent's shields here as well to misdirect or obstruct defense.

  • Thaks for the reply! I figured as much. I see a lot of aggressive shield-to-body work in fighting vids from Ansteorra and The Middle. Certainly the stuff in this fight is not as up-close as a great Duke Palymar/Duke Eliahu fight. Being from a kingdom that doesn't do a lot of shield edge to sword arm pressing, I guess I was a little taken aback. We do shield punching/shield hooking as well. Dietrich

  • Again, I'm not slamming anyone...I am really enjoying these vids. Thank you for posting them. Lot of terrific swordsmanship and chivalry! Herzog Dietrich.

  • Hello. Really looks like there's some blatant shield to body contact from THL Thorgrim to Sir Tindal late in the fight. Is there more aggressive shield work in Aethelmearc? Just curious. Duke Dietrich, Caid.
