I was standing next to "Riverexplorer" when this was shot,,.....

there is hope that the delta queen will return to the river in 2011 the congressman that put delta queen out of service has been voted out of office,,,so lets hope that the delta queen will return to where she belongs BACK ON THE RIVER,,,

I think that if could be feasable, Delta queen needs to be restored to running conditon get it legally running and undertake tours at least for everyone to enjoy it once again.

Actually this is true.
DQ arrived at the ending point before BOL, but DQ turned before it reached the point where it has to turn, so BOL won instead of DQ

Steam boat races today are fixed...If it wasn't for Liabilities and maybe if they were unmanned they would have been run to full capacity- Full steam!

@sanddragon99. I agree a number of the races were fixed. Unfortunatly, the boats aren't racing anymore. The DELTA QUEEN would beat the BELLE OF LOUISVILLE every time, because the BELLE has way too much weight aboard. Not only the additions to the physical plant for the air conditioning, but, the weight of up to 800 persons aboard. We'd love to see the DQ come back to race. The last race was real till the last half mile. Capt. Wilkinson didn't play the KDF script too well!

There was a time when I did! I miss that horribly....search Delta Queen on google and find out the attrocity that happened to this legendary piece of American History!
