ya..I watched the DVD preview video of Neal Morse. He did cover the string with the hairstrap. But I cannot mute the string well like him even i tied it tightly. Any suggestion?

Heh, these guys seem decent enough but Morse just seems to use some other person (in this case the almighty Paul Gilbert) to help him record his albums.

how does he mute the string during the eight fingers tapping?

If you look closely you will se two hairstraps at the top of the neck.
