In this video Dr. Rogers refutes the false doctrine of unconditional election of Calvinism's poisonous TULIP.

Adrian Pierce Rogers (September 12, 1931 November 15, 2005), was an American pastor, conservative, author, and a three-term president of the Southern Baptist Convention (1979-1980 and 1986-1988).

Rogers' theology is best described as conservative and evangelical. He believed in Biblical inerrancy, dispensationalism, and eternal security of the believer. Rogers generally opposed Reformed theology and Calvinism. Thank the Lord!

Rogers was known as one of the wisest men of our day and rightly so.

No place in Scripture is there any indication that any particular individual is elected to salvation. Just the opposite is shown. No one is guaranteed salvation apart from his own belief in the redemption provided by Jesus Christ.

The correct understanding of the terms "elect," "election" or "chosen" begins in the Old Testament where we find that God has elected Israel to be His special people. The individual is part of the corporate elect but is not individually elected to salvation or any special relationship to God.

The Nation Israel was elected by God to be His people. This election is as a nation. Some individuals in the elect had faith in God and others did not. This election is the Old Testament covenant between Israel and God and is the basis for naming the Scriptures the Old Testament, meaning Old Covenant.

We can see from the following verse on election that the individual had to be diligent in order to become one of the elect in the kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. That diligence is faith and obedience for which the person himself is responsible.

2 Peter 1:10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; 11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 11:5 By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, "and was not found, because God had taken him"; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. 6 But without faith [it] [is] impossible to please [Him], for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and [that] He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Romans 16:25 Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began 26 but now has been made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures has been made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith-- 27 to God, alone wise, [be] glory through Jesus Christ forever.

  • "Whosoever will." The only way this is a universal statement is if every man is willing. "The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts." (Ps 10:4) Roger's doctrine was certainly effective at fattening the membership roles of his southern-fried-mega-church, but it is unable to explain how the wicked man of Ps 10:4 is "willing" for spiritual things while there is no single though of God in his head.

  • @theearstohear It's changing the word, if you don't believe that the gospel was meant for every one. Just ask Tim Tebow about this verse, and who it's meant for.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

  • 1My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:>>>IF we are dead in the first place then how is it we can still SIN? 2And he is the propitiation for """our""" sins: and not for ours (((only))), but<(the greatest difference) also<INCLUDING for the sins of the """whole world."""" NOW who is that John is writing...and why include the whole world?

  • Those believe Calvinist. Are those who likes the game.Red Rover Red Rover Send Ogram right over the rest of you "all" can go to hell.OR like God and Satan on "opposing teams" and it's 1 for ME,1 for you,3 for Me 2 for you Why be pro life?Would God send a mere child who can not discern his right hand from his left to HELL well according to Calvin.HE(God) would be justified in doing so Well IF that is the God of this universe It sucks to be me.Cause I WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT KIND OF GOD

  • @Strefanasha - Man is dead in trespasses and in sins (Eph 2:1). Throwing life preservers to the dead will not save them. Christ is not a Coast Guard savior, throwing life-lines to the living who are in peril; the Lord Jesus Christ is a savior who speaks and give spiritual life to the dead (John 5:25) whom he chose to save in eternity past (Eph 1:4). Also Matt 23:37 is not "you" but "thy children." Search the scriptures to see if these things are so. (Acts 17:11)

  • @Strefanasha - Those Arminians who say that grace is resistible have never understood it.

  • @Rachella38 - Rather than ask Tim Tebow, why don't we look at what the apostle John is actually saying. "Whosoever believeth" is a present tense statement that means "the one believing" in both English and Greek. It is in reference to one who ALREADY believes. It follows that John 3:16 teaches the eternal security and assurance of the believer, not the possibility of salvation to all of humanity. Belief requires faith, and "all men have not faith." (II Thes 3:2)

  • Jesus said Mar 16:15...Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

    Mar 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Mar 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
