  • HUH? I never saw the Dutch commit the "Rape of Nanking," acquire "Comfort Women," deliberately execute women and children, deliberately starve prisoners, practice ritualistic cannibalism, nor perform vivisection on prisoners, or confiscation of food from Indochina.

I think it is wholly sad that the generation of young men who fought during this most horrible time are quickly disappearing, with their wholly ignorant grandchildren and great grandchildren not knowing any better.

  • This rave party just got political.

  • @sctanker I also have right to feel proud for the courage, the perseverance of many soldiers - but also recognize the atrocities committed by Imperial Japan - and now, makes me think of a history without heroes or villains, but with humans. The men of that time have been judged and condemned by the mans of their time. We need, just, understand. We still fight, but for a better place, with mutual respect.

  • @sctanker Today, i don`t believe in dualism, manichaeism oversimplifies our understanding about the History. First, we must understand that war is a conflict of interest,I have no doubt that Imperial Japan did what the Western powers also did in a past not so far.

Do You really believe that France, Britain did not have their comfort women? There was a Western power that forced the Chinese to use opium to avoid losing their profits? Westerns dont testing their weapons on japanese people?

  • 感動しました。

    今では絶対作れないほのぼのとした作品ですね。

  • brain-washing pro-invasion film

  • @sctanker

You're not the only disappointed by the disappearance of the wiser generation and the increasing ignorance in their offspring.

  • Ahem, I believe that is none other than Sir Francis Drake on his ship the "Golden Hind". He was in these locations during 1579-80, and opened the doors for British expansion.

The dress and profile of the character is obviously Drake and follows his dealings in Asia.

This film, after all is dealing with the attack on Singapore which was (obviously) a British outpost, not a Dutch one.

Gen. Percival and his associates are obviously based on the demons from the original Momotaro legend.

  • Arr?

  • Yes. it was far more bloody, sadistic, and savage.
