Trailer for the film by critically acclaimed Jon Moritsugu: Scumrock, now available on Google Video. With this film, Moritsugu takes on both the pretentions of underground filmmakers and the indie rock scene. Parallel stories involve a sensitive filmmaker struggling to make his masterpiece and an aging punk vocalist trying to save her slowly failing band. Shot in analog Hi-8 with an intentionally cheap (and at times blown out) look, Scumrock is a biting view of two segments of the underground art world.
Starring Amy Davis, Kyp Malone (from the band TV on the Radio), James Duvall ("Donnie Darko"), and Victor of Aquitaine.
Soundtrack features J-Church, the Gossip, Skull Kontrol, The Monorchid, Toni Ann, The Mollybolts, and Camelot.
This movie was fantastic. I'm surprised it hasn't gained more of a cult following through the years...

Oh, hey, I just saw this movie about a month ago. Despite the obvious lack of budget, I really enjoyed it!

Duval is spelled with one L, not two.
