i am only a uk foundation licence holder i am limitted to useing just 10w
i own a Yaesu FT847 and a TS480HX the FT847 is 100w out the back
the kenwood TS480HX is 200w out the back. but i caqn only use 10w.
i have a small garden so a big tower is not an option.
i build my own wire antennas and i have good results.
if i had the spare money i would not hesitate in buying eather of these
two transeivers my preferance would be the IC7800.
if your antenna works why not use one of these sets

Dear IV3NEP... Please RE-READ my comment ! I am talking AT the guy : VEC777 not you ! You can buy yourself a garage full of FTdx-9000D it does not matter to me ! Maybe you don't feel ok with my words ? I just wanted to say that in amateur radio you do not have to own an FTDX-9000D to have fun ! A small HF rig with 100W and a good antenna is perfect ! If VEC777 can't buy a tower and a full size yagi, an FTdx-9000D on a cheap antenna if something ridiculous ! Are you ok with this ? 73, ON6CV.

@Vec777 : Until you can buy yourself a (very) good antenna system, buying those dream machines is ridiculous even if your spare some money for years ! It's better to keep your FT-817, maybe a small linear amp or a 100w mobile rig and a good wire antenna to have fun ! There's no need to spend 20.000 Euros on two rigs to have fun on the air ! ;-) 73, Eric.
