After rocker Kurt Cobain's death, ruled a suicide, a film crew arrives in Seattle to make a documentary. Director Nick Broomfield talks to lots of people: Cobain's aunt who provides home movies and recordings, the estranged father of Cobain's widow Courtney Love, an L.A. private investigator who worked for Love, a nanny for Kurt and Courtney's child, friends and lovers of both, and others. Although Love won't talk to him and his inquiries lose him financial backing, he comes to believe the coroner's verdict. Portraits emerge: a shy, slight Kurt, weary of touring, embarrassed by fame, hooked on heroin; an out-going Courtney, dramatic, controlling, moving from groupie to star. Its a very old DVD version I had long back..sharing it with all Nirvana fans..Peace!!

To me the 1st few minutes of this movie is when celebrity journalism in the mainstream media really started to go downhill... People became hungry for the sad & the graphic. It should not be this way.

@MrCheeseman2011 for the most part I agree -- but what kinda ticks me off are people who always seem to brush off any serious discussion of conspiracy, like it's some kind of impossibility, even when there is evidence to support the said theory (JFK and 9/11 are great examples).
I personally keep all possibilities open as to avoid falling into self-made, delusional mind traps of denial while keeping a healthy dose of skepticism at hand as to not fall in the other direction.

There is no one but Kurt who knew the truth. The fact that other family members in his family committed suicide is not merely coincidence.I remember hearing the news about Kurt long ago. There was also an incident of Kurt ingesting an enormous amount of pills and champagne before his death in 94. I don't think anyone will ever know the whys of it all. It was a tragedy in the worst sense of the word. Kurt was too good for this world.Love you Kurt...

Courtney: some day you will die and you'll have to face God. You can't hide from the truth there. You can't manipulate and finesse your way out of that, you will have to pay for what you did to Kurt.
