Not enough practice in catching and stopping soccer balls wiill not allow for player skill acquisition and development. Can you imagine serious a baseball player not using a pitching machine to hone batting skills. You do something a 1000 times and you will be a lot better than doing it a 100 times.

Too much isolation kills the game and skill acquisition. This is not representative to the game at all thus players development will go slower.
